 Program in Cognitive Science and Theory of Communication

 University of Messina

The 2025–2026 webinar for the Cognitive Science and Theory of Communication curriculum will be dedicated to research training. The program will feature a one-day webinar involving three speakers: three advanced PhD students from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. 

Each participant will present their research project, addressing its structure, central arguments, developmental timeline, anticipated duration to completion, and its relevance to contemporary academic debates.

Each presentation will be allocated 20–25 minutes. A formal question-and-answer session is not scheduled; however, attendees may pose questions if time permits.

Grading

Assessment will be based on attendance and the submission of a research project. The research project must be submitted within two weeks following the webinar to palivieri@unime.it.

Provided that the research project adheres to the prescribed format (here below), each student will be awarded a total of 5 CFU.

Research Project Format

Length: minimum 2500 words.

Sections to be included:

1) Brief introduction of topic

2) Structured outline of the research project

3) Expected results

4) Bibliography of at least 10 references that are deemed coherent with the research project
